Dacre House Veterinary Clinic For the care your pet deserves
Price guide
At Dacre House we aim to keep our pricing fair; we believe we offer a high standard of veterinary care at very reasonable cost. As part of this aim we have listed many of our standard charges here. We understand that pricing transparency is important to our clients and we produce itemised invoices and receipts for the treatments we provide.
Unlike many practices we allow a full 15 minutes for each consultation to ensure you have sufficient time to discuss any pet health concerns you may have with your vet. Our consultation charges are on a sliding scale, so if your pet requires follow-up visits you will pay less for these subsequent checks. We have a strong ethical view that our pricing should always be transparent and fair - our vets are not on any commission or incentive schemes but are instead advised to only recommend tests or treatments where they are necessary, or of benefit to your pet.
Our vaccination fees include a complete health check by a veterinary surgeon and provide an opportunity to discuss any health issues or concerns you have. Unlike some practices we do not charge extra for minor services (nail trims, emptying anal glands) performed during a vaccination appointment. To read more about the importance of keeping your pet vaccinated, see our animal health guides. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. You may also benefit from checking out our special offers page. Please note that, with advances in vaccination technology, dogs and cats do not necessarily need a full booster each year - please call for more information.
The price for neutering dogs increases with weight, as bigger dogs require more anaesthetic and larger drug doses. All our quotes for surgery include a free follow-up health check within 5 days of the surgical procedure and, where necessary, a free appointment to remove stitches and check the surgical site. Stitches are usually removed 1-2 weeks after the operation. Please read our health guides for more information on the pros and cons of neutering your pet and please feel free to contact us if you have any queries.

We aim to provide a good quality, competitively-priced service to our clients. To keep costs down, we ask for payment at the time of treatment. We reserve the right to add a £5.00 administration charge to any account which has to be sent by post. Aged accounts (those where no payment has been received after 3 months) are dealt with by a debt recovery agency and may be referred to the small claims court; any costs incurred for these services will be passed on to the debtor. Bounced cheques are subject to a penalty fee of £15.00 to cover charges made by our Bank. Any queries regarding an outstanding account should be made, in the first instance, to the Practice Manager.
